Ashanti Shequoiya, also known as Ashanti was born on October 13, 1980 in Glen Cove New York United States. She is an American singer-songwriter and actor. The talent of Ashanti was discovered in her teens. She was signed to Murder Inc. Records, in 2002. In the same year, she made an appearance on The Fat Joe's What's Luv? Ja Rule's single, Always On Time as well as Fat Joe's What's luv? The songs of Ja Rule include Foolish (number one) and the track What's Luv! What's Luv?
